Slab means a length of flat stone, or a flat plate of stone.
Stone slabs, such as marble slab, granite slab are mainly purchased by stone wholesaler or stone distributor. Marble slab and granite slab are usually 96" up x 60" up (245cm up x 152cm up )in 2cm, or 3cm. Most of them are used to fabricate countertop, and is also called kitchen slab.
Natural stone slab is also used in moment or tombstone field could be as thick as 6cm.
The paving slab is normally in 1 1/4" (3cm) thickness, sometimes in thickness of 2.5" (6.35cm), 6"(15.2cm), 7" (17.8cm). Paving slab also includes tread slab, landing slab, stepping stone slab, garden paving slab, etc.
